Places

Block Island, R.I., one of the favorite places the Sullivan family use to like to visit many years ago.  They told a lot of stories about summer picnics and good times.

Groton, Ct.   We lived in Branford for a year and it was much like this, a few more large rocks to climb on and a spot to set out traps for lobsters . . . until the Game Warden said it was a 'no-no'.

Jennifer has been out and about this summer and here she is in Black Rock desert.

Jo and John have been fixing up Jo's house in Delaware.   The outside is about finished with its new paint  job and new shutters that actually work now, according to Jo.    Next comes the new kitchen once they come up with a plan and shop for the new appliances.    I want to see the finished product.   It has been a labor of love.

Yolanda and her mom just returned from a trip to Italy.

And they didn't miss any sight or sound.    Yolanda put dozens of pictures on and each one showed how much they enjoyed their trip of a lifetime.    I would love to have visited Rome but the trip I was on went to Northern Italy and it was wonderful, but not Rome.   I had hoped to make one more trip but it just was not meant to be.   I'm lucky I get to where I do go now.   Gees, can't be jealous without showing it .

Summer weather is with us, hot and windy, but if we didn't have that ocean breeze we'd swelter as we are used to fog and mist and rain.  Remind me never to complain about weather;  wouldn't that be nothing short of a miracle.    The gulls are screeching outside, probably hoping our neighbor will feed them.  He did stop for awhile but I think he has started up again.   Wonder why he thinks he should feed the gulls when they have a whole ocean full of their kind of food.  It takes all kinds to make our world go around.

The sun is up, it is bright out there and no wind at the moment.   I had better get my shoes on and go water the front bushes before they die of thirst .   I did get the back watered  yesterday.    The earth is so dry it cracks.   What I need is a good foot and a pitchfork, a load of manure and turned soil . . . but, not in this life time.   Rocky cuts the grass, sprays the weeds and uses an electric trimmer to trim the bushes but I don't think a pitch fork is in his repertoire  (expected a big flag to say I misspelled)  anyway, I did get  a flash that an error occurred and I may have lost this blog....hope not, I'll go now and see what happens.  One never knows what is in store for the day when using a computer.    Hope you are staying healthy and happy as you do your good deed for the day and smile while  your doing it.  Hugs to all.
