THEY WON FIRST PLACE
I know the two Michaels are strutting around today. Everything turned out great for the Carson Valley Day Parade ; great weather, a good crowd and the float , a master piece, I might add ; yeah, son Michael built it. Wonder what they will come up with for next year.
A new week starting, my how they fly by. I spent Father's Day with two very nice fathers who deserved a great meal. Gary did the cooking on the grill, two kinds of chicken that melted in your mouth. Darcy makes a very tasty potato salad and her own salsa is to die for. Their home is near the to of the mountain overlooking the Gold Beach bridge. You can see the river and imagine all the fishing boats trolling away on a summers day. The ocean view is spectacular and next time I am invited I will take my camera as it is a view that should be shared. There are trees where the Osprey visit; rocky pathways with boulders of huge size. How lucky they are to wake up of a morning and go out onto the lovely porch and sit quietly and enjoy the views. Another view was a tour of Jock's garden. This amazing man has a green thumb and it shows. There isn't an inch of space wasted and his roses actually have a sweet essence you don't often find anymore. The blueberry tree is loaded and the strawberries stretch from their boxed porch gardens to patches in the ground and are growing fat and juicy. The garden is set up in rows and doing very well; even a row of chard in for Pat and me. He has a new planter box with tomatoes that are taking off like they know what they are doing. It is going to be a banner year for fresh fruits and vegetables. The hard work and dedication shows and if I were passing out medals, he'd get the medal of honor or the biggest blue ribbon in town.
I hope you have a garden and a nice view from where you are sitting. I hope your new week proves to be fruitful. If you follow the rules of the road, so to speak, and be kind, be sweet and be good, you will attract some likely honey bees, the good men and women you know, who love you and care . . . what a way to spend a week better still a life time. So go attract a few loving folks, give them a hug or two and 'grin and bear it' , hugs are to endured, and better still shared. Hugs to all. |
