9/11

I don't think we will ever forget.

Minnie had a birthday and was gifted the lovely flowers and a beautiful patched table top.  The match was perfect and so well done;  you know how pleased and happy this made her.

Sharon and Bud are busy fishing.  What a colorful array of fish.   Good job  you two.

My calendar says that this is Patriots Day and National Day of Service and Remembrance ;  I thought that was Armistice Day November 11th;   well we cannot remember and celebrate our veterans enough.  September 11th goes down in history as another day of infamy and one we will never forget.    If you have a flag, today is a good day to put it up.

We had a beautiful day here in Brookings yesterday.   Mary Beth had perfect flying weather and the plane was on time.   Usually we have a fog bank and that can delay flights, but not yesterday, the weather remained bright and beautiful all day; fact it was getting a little to warm by five o'clock.   I had an empty nest feeling as I entered my quiet domain.   Neighbor La Verne stopped in for a visit and borrowed an egg and returned later with some hot corn bread to go with her lima and ham dish she wanted to share with me.   Pat had the same idea and came in with some chili, so I had quite a mix for my dinner;  just a taste of each and both are delicious.  I can have more today so no cooking for me today.    The house is back in order, the beds changed and ready for new company.   Now to tackle the gardens which are in need of a good watering.  I found some peppermint oil so can chase the spiders away.  It has been so dry that the spiders want to take over.   We have everything from black widows to brown recluse and this year they are building their webs everywhere.

I'm off to make my coffee and find something for breakfast.   Wish you were close by so  you could stop in and share some breakfast with me.   I have a refrigerator filled with sausage, ham and eggs as no one was a breakfast eater last week;  but my blueberry muffins and apple bread disappeared.   So get up and get going and enjoy today. . . Thursday . . . um;  a nice ring to it as we head into a new weekend.   Be gentle and kind and don't forget one good deed today.   Light a candle for those that lost their lives on 9/11/01.   Hugs to all.
